3) Make sure the Chef is onboard with your deal so he can prepare for additional business.

4) Treat every NEW customer with your usual great service.  These people will become regulars for your restaurant and that's what this is all about - Customer Acquisition.

5) Prepare for your Deal by educating your key staff so they can answer questions about it.  Think about how you feel when you call a business and they don't have a clue what you're talking about?

6) Carefully read the contract with your preferred Group Buying web site rep.  Make sure there are no clauses that STOP you from enjoying the benefits of this type of marketing with other deal promoters.  You have a right to operate your business and market yourself, don't be restricted.  There are LOTS of deal sites and lots of options to choose from.

8) Contact your web site host and tell him to expect heavy additional traffic and to ensure that there is enough bandwidth so your web site does not go down.  This is disastrous so be prepared.

9) Make sure your web site is also fully updated with your most recent information.  You don't want web site visitors finding your Holiday Specials but it's summer?  That hurts.

July 5 (Bloomberg) -- Toronto restaurants were among the city’s businesses most hurt by the Group of 20 summit, with a decline in sales of as much as 67 percent in some areas, said Canada’s largest debit and credit-card processor.

Spending fell at Toronto stores, restaurants, tourist spots and entertainment venues from June 25 to June 27, when world leaders along with thousands of police and protesters occupied Canada’s largest city for the G-20 gathering, according to Moneris Solutions Corp.
